How to describe me?
Ok here goes.
I left University to work in hotels for 10 years, hospitality is a crazy life but I loved it. Until I didn’t.
Then I fell into Student Accommodation (everyone says that) and I have had the time of my life working in the industry and now talking about it.
People told me Build-to-Rent would be similar to PBSA, it isn’t, but I still loved it.
Now I spend my life consulting for Real Estate operators and also doing the best job in the world, hosting Know Your Shift, the podcast about change.
I live in Norfolk having worked In Oxford, Edinburgh, London, Nottingham, and everywhere in between.
My side mission is to sort out the broken system for helping kids with SEND (like my two), so I talk about that a lot as well.

When it comes to Purpose Built Student Accommodation, I’ve seen it all. Small sites, Big sites, Regions and National Portfolios.
From Check in to Check out and everything in between, I have endless stories and experience of Summer turns, flatmate drama, University nominations, Res Life and Rebookers to name just a few.
And the same goes for every Operational Living sector, I’ve seen the highs and the lows of it all.
A lot of people talking about the industry haven’t been at the coalface, I have.
My all-round knowledge of what it takes to manage a building full of individuals, allows me to ensure that any Strategic Plan can actually be delivered operationally.

My podcast, Know Your Shift has taken over my life. What started as something I did because I love a podcast, has snowballed into a regular feature in the charts with over 1000 listeners every episode.
The podcast is all about change, and the effect it has on all of our lives.
I have had some incredible conversations, with guests that have been through some incredibly tough changes and challenges, and their willingness to talk about their toughest life experiences blows me away everytime.
